Wierd Things About Me

I don't often do the Meme things, but I've read a few about things you don't know about someone. This got me thinking about a couple of wierd things about me. I can't whistle. It's not for lack of trying, but I just can't whistle. I have tried all my life. I've had many different people try to teach me. But it just doesn't happen. No whistles come from my mouth.

The other thing? (well, ok, there's way more than two things that are wierd about me, but that's all you get for today!) I can't roll my 'R's. Like in the Timmy's "Rrrrroll up the rrrrrim" contests. Or when imitating a cat purring. Then this got me thinking about Pepe Le Pew, and the cute little French kitty that he was always chasing. The kitty was always saying things like "Le Meow" and "Le Purrrr" while rolling it's 'R's. Adorable!

So I guess there is a third thing for today after all. I love YouTube! You can find just about anything on there. So for your viewing pleasure, I bring you... Pepe Le Pew!

I can whistle (basic whistling - nothing fancy) but it makes my mouth sore really fast. You're not missing much. I must be only slightly more deficient in whistling than you are.

I also cannot roll my r's.

I can only snap with my left hand. And I'm right handed. Go figure!

BTW, the job I interviewed for, I got. They made me a decent offer and I took it. Karma for sure! Thanks for your encouragement!!!

The Completed Bionic Gear Bag EDIT: Link to the second bag I made almost seven years later   Well I finally finished my Bionic Gear Bag .  What can I say?  I laughed, I cried... New Look 6735 - The Dedicated Post

I have decided to put up a dedicated post for New Look 6735 .  Because I have made so many versions of it, it really doesn't require a new post every time I make one.  This will make it easy for me to track my projects with this pattern.  I have made this up now as the 3/4 sleeve tee, the cap sleeve tee, a sleeveless version and the cardigan (although heavily modified).  The fact that I have certainly got my money's worth out of this pattern makes the cheap bastard in me very happy!  So here we go (with newest versions on top): With narrower neckline Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog Post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post

Onward and upward...

I was complaining whining speculating about the changes in my life in a recent post , and I've decided to take some action on it. I might be right out of my mind but I have an appt Monday with a dept head at our local university. Now you have to realize that I graduated from high school in (gulp) 1979. In my early 20's I did a 4 year apprenticeship as a Tool & Die Maker and haven't been to school since other than the occasional night school class. But the kids are pretty much grown, DD is 18 and just bought her first car and is working part time while going to school full time and really doesn't need me much anymore. (I guess I'd better learn not to make run-on sentences if I want to go to uni!) DS is living with Dad at the moment. So there's really no reason for me not to. I work full time so I'm going to apply as a part time undergrad, and I'm thinking of just taking one course per semester to begin until I see how it goes. I want it to enhance
