New Look 6735 - The Dedicated Post

I have decided to put up a dedicated post for New Look 6735.  Because I have made so many versions of it, it really doesn't require a new post every time I make one.  This will make it easy for me to track my projects with this pattern.  I have made this up now as the 3/4 sleeve tee, the cap sleeve tee, a sleeveless version and the cardigan (although heavily modified).  The fact that I have certainly got my money's worth out of this pattern makes the cheap bastard in me very happy!  So here we go (with newest versions on top):

I can't get over how different the looks are from this one pattern. You've done an amazing job with it. Did you have to alter the pattern to get it to fit? FBA for example? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your nice comments Mary!

I initially made this pattern as a 16 based on my measurements. After some adjustments I realized this pattern fits me well as a 14 as long as I make a 1" length adjustment (I am 5'7"). This pattern has ease built in at the front bustline which is what I think makes it a winner.

You have definitely gotten your money's worth from this pattern. Everything looks so beautiful, and your ideas are "outside the pattern envelope"!☺

I, too, have this pattern, and wondered if you'd made the pants. I'm thinking I want to shape the legs a bit, maybe go for a more bell-bottom look.

I haven't tried the pants yet. They are a bit wide-legged for my taste, although I imagine the pattern could probably be adjusted to a narrower version without too much trouble. I have thought about making the pants from NL6977 but I haven't seen them reviewed. The line drawing makes it look like a narrower pant. Maybe I need to be the one to bite the bullet and go for it!

No one would guess that all these wonderful tops are all made out of the same pattern.

Makes me question if I need to buy patterns at all. Lol.

I agree Kay. I am trying to do a pattern fast. I have recently been gifted a book on pattern drafting and I have gotten an idea about slashing and spreading to make a flowing tunic top from this pattern.
