Jammer Shorts!

Even though I'm off work for three weeks vacation I haven't done a whole lot.  I did have a productive day yesterday though.  I managed to clean out my spice cupboard and my linen closet.  I know this doesn't sound like a lot but these are two things that have been nagging at me for a long time so it felt really good to get them done.

As a reward I took two pairs of too-short jammie pants that were destined for the recycle pile and cut them down to jammer shorts.  I love them!  They are perfect for around the house as well as for sleeping in, and it gave me a chance to play with Jenny for a bit since I'm still trying to learn coverstitching.  I can see a few more pairs in my future.

The Completed Bionic Gear Bag EDIT: Link to the second bag I made almost seven years later   Well I finally finished my Bionic Gear Bag .  What can I say?  I laughed, I cried... New Look 6735 - The Dedicated Post

I have decided to put up a dedicated post for New Look 6735 .  Because I have made so many versions of it, it really doesn't require a new post every time I make one.  This will make it easy for me to track my projects with this pattern.  I have made this up now as the 3/4 sleeve tee, the cap sleeve tee, a sleeveless version and the cardigan (although heavily modified).  The fact that I have certainly got my money's worth out of this pattern makes the cheap bastard in me very happy!  So here we go (with newest versions on top): With narrower neckline Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog Post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post Blog post

Onward and upward...

I was complaining whining speculating about the changes in my life in a recent post , and I've decided to take some action on it. I might be right out of my mind but I have an appt Monday with a dept head at our local university. Now you have to realize that I graduated from high school in (gulp) 1979. In my early 20's I did a 4 year apprenticeship as a Tool & Die Maker and haven't been to school since other than the occasional night school class. But the kids are pretty much grown, DD is 18 and just bought her first car and is working part time while going to school full time and really doesn't need me much anymore. (I guess I'd better learn not to make run-on sentences if I want to go to uni!) DS is living with Dad at the moment. So there's really no reason for me not to. I work full time so I'm going to apply as a part time undergrad, and I'm thinking of just taking one course per semester to begin until I see how it goes. I want it to enhance
